About Me
My Journey into audio engineering

About Me
After a rewarding career as a Senior Advanced Nurse Practitioner, I decided to follow my lifelong passion for music and transition into audio engineering. My background in nursing helped me develop essential skills such as time management, communication, and working independently—traits that are crucial in this new career.
My musical journey began at the age of 18 when I picked up the bass guitar and became immersed in the local music scene. Over the years, I’ve played in various bands, from the 1990s indie group Raindance, with whom I toured the UK, to Alias Country, a country-style band that released a CD. These experiences taught me not only how to play and perform music but also how to work within a group to create cohesive and engaging sounds. I currently perform with State of Confusion, a post-punk covers band that plays a mix of classic and contemporary tracks, as well as Derailed, an acoustic quartet that focuses on a more stripped-back, intimate sound.
I’m also actively involved in recording music. I’m currently working with the local band The Lavelles to record one of their songs in the studio.
Since starting my degree in audio engineering, I’ve also worked in theatre, designing and triggering sound effects using QLab. This hands-on experience has allowed me to explore the technical side of audio in a live performance context and broaden my understanding of sound design.
With a passion for both music and sound,I'm exited to continue developing my expertise and explore future opportunities in both studio production and live sound.
